    Outdated and boring!

After receiving my bottle of wine in a cracked and broken plastic wine cooler and a lipstick stained wine glass.. that was only replaced by a slightly less lipstick stained wine glass I made my way into the restaurant. Here I was greeted by yet another group of staff who where friendly and inviting, but much like the bar staff, they didn't seem to want to be there.

Maybe I'll return in 10 years, hopefully by then the club might be at least in the 2000's.

The drink selection from the bar is very limited in the way of spirits and premixed drinks. I was offered a very limited wine list, that was, like many other things in the club, very outdated, dog eared, stained and covered in black marker where ltems had been removed. The bar tender was however very knowledgeable on the wines, sadly a feat not too impressive when there is such a small amount to choose from.

The lack of receptionist leaves you to have to actually venture into the clubhouse to find out wether or not the bistro is open or if there is anything happening in the club in the way of entertainment. As I have found out and heard from numerous people, there is quite often nothing in the way of entertainment on the weekends and unless you want to play the pokies you'd be better off attending elsewhere.

A great place for a quiet drink or a leisurely game of golf the restaurant is a great place for lunch or dinner

Walking in is like a blast from the past and not a good one at that. There is no one at reception past 4pm leaving you to sign in yourself.. Or as many would, just don't bother.

Although the staff were friendly and it's few diamond in the rough features the atmosphere of the whole clubhouse is off putting. Between the mismatch, broken or damaged furniture, paint jobs and carpet, the outdated utensils, tools and facilities for both the patrons and even staff, the wires hanging down in gambling areas, the ancient bar area that serves very little to no representation of modern or inviting hospitality, the rancid odour from the toilets, the litter of pixelated poster advertising that is in your face on every wall and surface, the lack of places to sit uninterrupted by gaming and gambling or television(s) sound, the lack of reception and the unkept rooms and infrastructure of the building. The cons outweigh the pros leaving a bitter taste of wasted time for anyone looking for a new and fresh outing.

The staff seemed friendly for the most of it, but I wouldn't rely on them to go above and beyond or anything. They had a very complacent attitude. Almost coming across as a 'Who cares' work ethic.

It is here I will summarise my fundings of the Moruya Golf Club or it will become a novel and not a review.

The half hour wait for my food seemed to be a little too long for a simple chicken schnitzel with chips and salad considering there was only 10 other people in the restaurant with most of them already eating. The food was however very nice with a decent portion, making the wait almost acceptable.

I ordered my food and took a seat at a far window table. To no surprise the table was old, scuffed, scratched and the corners were torn up and water damaged, this sadly seemed to be the going theme of the whole club. The view was picturesque, but sadly interrupted by a very sad set of white outdoor tables covered in black mould and a very tired looking deck that seemed to be inaccessible and unused.
