    I've been with Southern Phone for many years now. To start with they were excellent. Now they seem to have deteriorated to the point where they are as bad as all the other telcos. Their phone line is a waste of time and although you can get some action with the online chat, you end up going around in circles and having to repeat yourself every time somebody new picks up the baton. They are happy to take your money from you if you want to upgrade, or need to replace a lost phone, but if your phone stops working (which is what happened to me) they just handball it to the manufacturer. And I am still waiting for them to send me a proof of purchase so I can send the phone off. And this after hours spent on the phone and sending emails and texts. The bottom line for me is I am completely inconvenienced by having to send the phone to the manufacturer, and will probably be without a phone for several weeks.

    My 92 yr old mother has had the VERY WORST service from this appalling incompetent company. Out of 184 days she had only 36 days of service for her home internet & phone. 36!! She could not contact them by phone (didn't answer, line dropping out) & they ignored her complaint letter. After 2 months of zero service, she was desperate & connected with iiNet. Now Southern Phone is demanding that she pay $1000 for disconnecting & arrears. The way they have treated her is just disgusting. Have nothing to do with these charlatans! / UPDATE: Happily, as of 21.11.17 Southern Phone has resolved this complaint entirely, and this is a very good outcome for my mother. So I am happy about this process, which was efficient and timely, and considerate. Southern Phone might not provide good NBN service, but they do have a good disputes resolution department.

    If finally you will be lucky enough to get through, you will be shocked how rude, arrogant and and unhelpful they are. They will try to charge you for an internet that is not even connected and not working yet

    This is most inconvenient. I think once this contract has run its course I'll be looking elsewhere. Poor show, folks.

    Similar experience as others have had. Used to be good a few years ago and it used to be possible to speak to someone fairly quickly when you had a problem. The last few times I've had problems and tried to phone I just got put on an interminable hold without even a recorded message to tell me my position in the queue. I found the easiest way to deal with issues was by using their online chat service. Gave up with them in the end as soon as my contract expired and found a much cheaper option.

    I have found it almost impossible to talk to someone. Hang on the phone for far too long, then get transferred to someone else and hang on the phone again. i am seriously disappointed with this local company. i cannot recommend them to anyone.

    Do not to be lured by their lower price. In the end it will cost you more and you will be totally frustrated because you will need to find another decent provider.
