  The service was flawless and everyone was pleased to see us. The views were lovely, watching the bird life around the river as the sun set rounded out the dining experience.

  We had the scallops and crab beignets (very good), the tuna was replaced by another local fish (really good), the duck and ham terrine (very good) and the eye fillet (wonderful).

  Judging from the reviews we must have gone on an off night! The waitress was terrible, I simply asked if I could have some bread as an entree which I was happy to overpay for, 'No you can't have that' I was told. Then there were the mains. Not a single side included so after they arrived we had to order a side of greens which was literally just a bowl of broccoli. You'd think the waitress would have suggested we order those from the beginning?! Overall, the food was cooked well but it was nothing special. Very expensive for what it was. We certainly won't be returning.

  While I expect steak to be excellent at a good restaurant, it really was excellent but the beef and mushroom beignets lifted the dish to amazing!

  I visited The River in late January with three friends. We had the tasting menu and, while I expected good food, I was amazed by some of the dishes.
